Marijuana brownies seized on the Alberta-U.S. border
Border agents search vehicle at Coutts
Border agents have seized 200 brownies laced with what authorities suspect is marijuana.
Two travellers were returning to Alberta from the U.S via the Coutts crossing. During a search of their vehicle, officers found two bags of the individually wrapped packages of brownies, weighing 3.4 kg, as well as 1.5 grams of marijuana.
The pair were arrested and turned over to RCMP, along with the evidence. They are scheduled to appear in provincial court in Lethbridge in September.
The incident happened on June 24, but officials only released the information on Tuesday.
Canada Border Services Agency officers have made 30 drug seizures this year at the Coutts crossing.
