Manslaughter charge laid in Brian Black Kettle's death
26-year-old man accused of fatal attack last Sunday in downtown park
Police have charged a man in connection to a fatal attack in a downtown Calgary park last weekend.
Brian Black Kettle, 35, was found unconscious in Century Gardens at Eighth Street and Seventh Avenue southwest on July 27 at about 11 p.m. MT.
He was taken to hospital and later declared dead.
A 26-year-old man has been now been charged with manslaughter. His next court appearance is set for Aug. 8.
It is believed the offender and the victim were known to each other and the incident is not considered random.
Black Kettle’s death is Calgary's 22nd homicide of 2014.
