A 38-year-old man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant has been arrested in downtown Calgary and charged with attempted murder.

RCMP issued the warrant for his arrest after the man allegedly used a shotgun to fire slugs into a trailer in Warner, Alta., which is about three hours southeast of Calgary.

Milk River RCMP allege he had aimed at the bed and narrowly missed two sleeping occupants.

It's believed the man then stole a 2004 black Dodge 1500 truck. He was arrested Sunday without incident in downtown Calgary.

RCMP have charged the man with two counts of attempted murder. No date has been set for his court appearance.
