Man sought after two banks robbed in northeast
HAWCS helicopter and canine units involved in search
Calgary police are searching for a suspect after two banks in the northeast were robbed Saturday afternoon.
Around 2:30 p.m. MT, the TD Bank in the 3500 block of 32nd Avenue NE was robbed by a lone suspect. Moments later, the ATB in the 2500 block of 32nd Avenue NE was also robbed.
In both cases, the suspect fled on foot.
He is described as an aboriginal man, possibly Métis, about six feet tall, with short black hair. He was clean cut, was wearing a grey T-shirt and scruffy blue jeans, and was carrying a backpack.
A Calgary police HAWCS helicopter and police canine units are being used in the search for the suspect.
