A Pincher Creek man was pronounced dead at a local hospital after a boating accident on the Oldman Dam in southern Alberta Sunday.
Two others were injured in the crash that Pincher Creek RCMP say happened around 5:30 p.m. MT when a 2007 Sky Supreme V212 boat travelling on the dam suddenly took a sharp turn into the bank.
One of the injured men was able to flag down a passing boat, which called 911.
Due to the location of the accident, Alberta Parks were called to assist and provided two boats to transport EMS and police to the scene.
Two private boat owners also transported emergency personnel to the scene.
"We would like to thank these two boat owners for their assistance," said Pincher Creek RCMP in a release.
The three men, all from Pincher Creek area, were transported by ambulance to the local hospital.
One injured man was then transported by air ambulance to a Calgary hospital and the other was treated and released.
RCMP believe alcohol and speed were a factor in the collision. The names of the injured and deceased are not being released at this time.
