One man is dead and a second in hospital after a collision on Glenmore Trail early Friday morning.

The driver of a red SUV was pronounced dead at the scene of the two-vehicle accident, which officials say happened at around 6 a.m. MT at 68th Street S.E.

A second man, believed to be in his early 50s, was taken to hospital in stable condition, EMS said.

It appears the motorist who died was making a turn when he was struck by an oncoming vehicle, said Staff Sgt. Paul Stacey.

“The westbound vehicle, the SUV, was actually making a left-hand turn to go southbound on 68th Street. As he did that he crossed into the path of the eastbound vehicle and he was struck on the side,” he said.
