A man was seriously injured Wednesday morning in a rollover crash along the Trans-Canada Highway — also known as Highway 1 — just west of Calgary, emergency officials say.

The man, believed to be in his 50s, was taken to hospital with critical, life-threatening injuries. There has been no further update on his condition.

The accident occurred near OldBanff Coach Road and eastbound lanes were closed for several hours.

A spring snow storm has been creating slippery driving conditions in and around Calgary.
