Man charged with voyeurism after hiding camera in bushes
Man told police he was watching girls for sexual gratification
Calgary police have charged a man with voyeurism after he allegedly hid a camera in bushes near a bus stop to watch young girls.
Police were called Tuesday after a witness claimed to have seen someone setting up a video camera in bushes near a New Brighton bus stop where several young girls were waiting for a bus. Police found the man in a vehicle at the scene.
The 29-year-old told officers he was recording the girls for his own sexual gratification.
Officers later discovered a two-year-old girl alone in a nearby home.
In addition to the voyeurism charge, the man is charged with failing to provide adequate supervision for a child.
No names are being released to protect the identity of the child.
The accused has been released on a promise to return and will appear in court next month.
