Man charged in Bridgeland death

Calgary police are now saying the death of a man found inside a residence in Bridgeland Tuesday is a homicide.

Manslaughter charges were laid Wednesday night in connection to a homicide in Bridgeland, police said.

On Tuesday, officers were called to the 200 block of 11th Street northeast around 2:30 p.m. MT following reports of an assault. 

Several people from inside the residence had been taken in for questioning.

Duty Insp. Paul Stacey said the autopsy was completed on Tuesday, but police cannot release the cause of death at this time.

The man in custody is scheduled to make his first court appearance Thursday morning.
