Man charged after 12-week-old puppy beaten
Puppy was allegedly thrown up to five feet
RCMP in Turner Valley have charged a 19-year-old with cruelty to an animal after a 12-week-old puppy was beaten and required surgery.
The male collie received three broken legs and a broken jaw. Police say it appears the dog was allegedly punched, kicked and thrown up to five feet.
William Daniel Goyette is scheduled to appear in Okotoks court on April 12.
"He cannot leave Alberta and he cannot own any domestic animal," said RCMP Const. Andrew Cross of Goyette's release conditions.
The puppy survived the attack, had surgery and is now recovering.
It has been seized by the SPCA.
