A 28-year-old man has been charged in the murders of two men in Lethbridge, Alta.

A 28-year-old man has been charged in Lethbridge's first-ever double homicide.

Marty Leon Steele, 35, and Aaron Louis Thacker, 30, who are both from Lethbridge, were found dead in a northside park during the early morning hours Sunday.

They both died from stab wounds. Their bodies were found at the west end of the Adam’s Ice Centre Park on the grass near a walking path after a passerby alerted police.

Police said they were stabbed in what appears to be a drug-related dispute.

Investigators say the men knew each other and had been socializing together earlier in the evening.

Cody Blue Favel, 28, from Lethbridge is charged with two counts of second-degree murder, robbery and weapons offences.

His first court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.
