Justin McNeil identified as Bow River drowning victim by police
Body recovered from the Bow River is that of Cape Breton man reported missing on June 22
Police have identified a body found in the Bow River last weekend as that of Justin McNeil.
The 19-year-old from Cape Breton was reported missing on June 22 after going swimming while camping on the Highwood River. The Highwood is a tributary of the Bow.
He was immediately caught in the strong current and swept downstream.
When he was reported missing, police searched the river with boats and a helicopter in the area of the campground and downstream for 10 kilometres, but were unable to locate McNeil.
The body was discovered by people fishing the river last weekend.
