International coaches head to Calgary workshop
Coaches from around the world share tips for optimizing performance
Coaches of some of the world's top athletes are in Calgary for a series of workshops aimed at helping them improve athlete performance.
The coaching workshops will include Olympic viewing sessions and opportunities for the coaches to share tips with others about how to ensure athletes can give their all under immense stress.
"For my team, we've got this hoodoo against the U.S.A. and you know, we've got to learn how to finish strong against them," said John Herdman, coach of the Canadian women's soccer team.
"I'll be speaking to [Team Canada women's hockey coach] Kevin Dineen when he gets home and just trying to figure out the strategies he used with that group of women."
The conference is being put on by the International Council for Coaching Excellence.
The workshops will continue all week.
