A Calgary bank is hosting an art exhibition featuring portraits of neighbourhood business owners.

The exhibit, called Portraits on the Avenue, is on display this week at ATB Financial on International Avenue, which is a stretch of 17 Avenue S.E.

"It's a wonderful way of showing a community working together, so the portraits are fabulous," said Alison Karim-McSwiney, executive director of the International Avenue Business Revitalization Zone.

Artist Janice Fletcher lives in the Forest Lawn area.

"What we're trying to do here is engage with the community so you can kind of connect with people who wouldn't normally go to art shows and galleries," she said.

The portraits will be in the bank for the rest of the week and then will go the Forest Lawn Library.
