Two years after "You’re dead" was spray painted on a Calgary family's garage door, their home was pierced by six gunshots.

Police said the shooting happened Friday night, adding they suspect a teen that lives in the northeast house was being targeted. He was home alone when the shots were fired through a window and into his couch.

The teen was not injured.

The boy, who lives in the home with his parents, is known to police and was not being co-operative in the investigation, they said.

"Well, certainly if an individual is known to us, it goes with a lifestyle," Insp. Darren Cave said Saturday.

"That’s the angle we’re looking at right now," he added. "Because of his background, that’s the reason for the targeted attack on the residence."

Neighbours say emergency crews have been called to the home several times in the last few years.

Police were called to the Monterey Park home Friday, just before 11 p.m. MT.

Several police crews, including the gang unit, have been brought in to investigate.
