Apay Ogouk, 30, pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated sexual assault for incidents that happened between 2007 and 2010.
A sentencing hearing will be held in the next month or two.
Ogouk surrendered to Calgary police in 2010 after warrants were issued in both Winnipeg and Calgary where he has split his time since moving to Canada from Sudan in 2005.
According to an agreed statement of facts filed with the court, Ogouk failed to show up for numerous medical appointments.
The court was told he did not infect the Calgary teens, aged 15 and 16, but Ogouk also faces similar charges in Winnipeg where two woman say they contracted HIV after having sex with him.
He goes on trial there in the fall. Ogouk will be subject to deportation after he serves his time.
