The weather is making travel nearly impossible in parts of the B.C. interior.
Highway 3, the main route through the region, is closed at Sparwood.
Alberta travellers can't take the southern route any further than that.
The B.C. Ministry of Transportation is recommending people only travel into the province if absolutely necessary.
John Himel runs the visitor centre in Sparwood, where vehicles are parked, waiting out the storm.
"Basically what they’re telling us right now, is that if you don’t have to go outside and travel, don’t do it," said Himel. "If, for whatever reason, you absolutely have to do it, use extreme caution because it’s not nice right now."
Highway 3 has been closed since Monday night and it's not known when it will reopen.
