Greyhound bus service nearing capacity for holidays
Last minute flights might be hard to get during the holiday season, but the demand for bus tickets seems to be just as high.
Greyhound says meeting the seasonal surge in demand has stretched its fleet to the limit.
"Over the course of the holiday week, we'll transport about a half-a-million passengers across North America," said Maureen Richmond, spokesperson for Greyhound. "Certainly we would love to have unlimited resources, but every bus that we have available will be on the road this holiday season."
Caroline Bushell tried to get a ticket home to Grande Prairie, Alta.
"I was going to leave today, but it’s tomorrow now that I have to go back home," Bushell said. "I just took my chances, that's all."
Richmond’s advice for travelers is to book online, get to the bus terminal early and to be patient.
