With flu season arriving, health officials are reminding Albertans that it’s important to get immunized.
AHS is setting up free influenza clinics across the province starting Oct. 21 that will be available to all Albertans six months of age and older.
Shots or nasal sprays will be offered in Calgary at Brentwood Village Mall, Northgate, Richmond Road Diagnostic Treatment Centre and South Calgary Health Centre.
“We don't know exactly what it will turn out like but this is a reminder that people can take steps shortly to get the best protection they can against the influenza by getting immunized,” said Dr. Judy MacDonald, AHS medical officer of health.
Nearly 1,000 Albertans were hospitalized with the flu last year, AHS said.
