Country music star Garth Brooks is coming out of touring retirement to perform at this year’s centennial edition of the Calgary Stampede.
Brooks will do a show at the Scotiabank Saddledome on July 12, the Stampede announced on Thursday.
The top selling singer stopped touring in 1998 and now performs his solo act at a Las Vegas hotel.
"Garth Brooks has a long history with Calgary," says Paul Rosenberg, vice-president Programming for the Calgary Stampede.
"We are thrilled to have him here during our Centennial year. Garth is a country music legend; to have him perform at the Centennial Calgary Stampede is incredible."
Ticket information will be released on Tuesday, April 10 at noon, Stampede officials said.
The 100th Calgary Stampede’s runs from July 6 to 15.
