Officials are calling an early morning garage fire in northeast Calgary suspicious.

Crews were called to the 1100 block of Falconridge Drive N.E. just after midnight where they found a car and a detached garage at the back of the residence in flames.

Firefighters quickly put out the fires, but the car was consumed by the blaze and the garage badly damaged, officials said.

There was no damage to other buildings and no injuries.

Arson investigators are looking at the fire, police said.

  • The Calgary Fire Department initially reported the garage fire was in the 100 block of Falsby Road N.E. Turns out that is where the emergency call came from, but the fire was located nearby.
