The Calgary Fire Department responded Saturday night to a fire in a northwest home.

Around 9:30 p.m. MT, crews were called to the 1400 block of Nutana Place N.W., where they found heavy smoke coming from one half of a side-by-side duplex.

A fire was located in a bedroom and extinguished without any of it spreading to other parts of the house.

One adult male was home at the time of the fire but was able to get out without injuries.

Fire investigators are now investigating.
