Fire engulfed a large new home in a subdivision on the northwestern edge of Calgary early Friday morning.

The blaze broke out in a home in Watermark at Bearspaw on 12 Mile Coulee Road north of 80th Avenue N.W.

Emergency officials are asking people to stay away from the area as crews continue to bring the fire under control.

The house was still under construction and no one was inside when the fire broke out, officials said.

There are no reports of injuries.

The luxury home, worth about $2 million, was just weeks away from completion.
