Centre B Street N.W. closed for fire operations, traffic being rerouted

Calgary fire crews were called out to a fire at a northwest home in Highland Park Saturday and have shut down a nearby road while crews continue to investigate the cause.

Just before noon, crews rushed to the 3900 block of Centre B St. N.W. after reports of a building fire.

When firefighters arrived, they found a well-developed fire on the outside of the home and said it may have spread to the inside.

Crews started an aggressive attack on the fire while searching for occupants in the home.

No residents were home at the time and no one was injured.

The fire was quickly brought under control but the cause has not yet been determined.

Investigators are on the scene and Centre B St. N.W. remains closed, and traffic within a one-block radius is being re-routed.
