The family of an Innisfail mother who died after a mysterious package exploded in her central Alberta home are disappointed by the lack of communication from RCMP investigating the case.
Vicky Shachtay, 23, was killed when an explosion ripped through her apartment — leaving behind her daughter, who was not home at the time.
The quadriplegic, who uses a wheelchair, was with a caretaker when the strange parcel was dropped off on her doorstep in the early morning hours of Nov. 25, 2011.
Her brother Derek Shachtay said the family hasn't heard much about the homicide investigation from RCMP. CBC reporter Tara Weber sat down with Derek Shachtay to talk about the family's struggle for answers.
