Calgary's Epcor Centre is putting its naming rights up for sale in the hunt for a new sponsor.

The centre's sponsorship deal with utility company Epcor expired several years ago and it no longer receives any money from the company. However, the name has stayed up because it is too expensive to change without another sponsor.

"It's not something we would be able to do on an interim basis," CEO Johann Zietsman said. "It's just too difficult to manage that branding and too expensive."

The building is 27 years old and Zietsman says they need to find a way to pay for repairs.

He says he hopes a new sponsor would be able to help pay for that —  in return for getting their business name out there.
