An 81-year-old Turner Valley woman has died after neighbours rescued her from a fire two weeks ago.
Elly Craciun passed away at the Foothills hospital early Sunday morning.
Craciun's husband, Willi, had been running an errand when the family down the street noticed a thick plume of smoke.
The neighbors found her sitting on the floor badly burned and quickly carried her from the house.
The home was destroyed and the Craciun's didn't have any insurance.
Their son-in-law says Willi has received an outpouring of support from the community.
"I have received emails, several a day since the fire,… with people donating items across the board from couches, hide-a-beds, all the way to clothing, kitchen appliances, utensils," said Julian Bromwich.
Bromwich says three offers have come in to help find a place for Willi to live.
One was from a builder who offered to put a new house on the land, once the site was cleaned up.
Someone also offered to put a replacement trailer on the property, and another offered to move Willi to subsidised housing in Black Diamond.
Bromwich says a funeral will be planned for sometime this week in Turner Valley.
