One man is facing four charges after a wild drive through parts of the city yesterday.

Calgary police said the man who was tracked driving a stolen car has been charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle, driving without insurance, vehicle theft and shoplifting.

Police got a call from a store in the southeast Monday afternoon, where the caller said someone had stolen goods and left the area in a Honda Accord.

The vehicle eventually ran into a chain link fence on Memorial Drive N.E.

The driver took off on foot, but was arrested nearby.

Police had been following the vehicle as the driver crossed medians into oncoming traffic, drove down sidewalks and sped through school zones. There were no injuries but three other vehicles were hit.
