A collision between a car and C-Train led to major transit delays in downtown Calgary early Thursday morning.

The Mazda collided with the LRT at Seventh Avenue and Ninth Street S.W. at about 6:30 a.m. MT.

Two people in the car suffered minor injuries.

The crash led to a 30-minute closure along the downtown C-Train corridor. Calgary Transit brought in shuttle buses for stranded passengers.

Calgary Transit and police are trying to determine how the collision occurred.

There have been numerous collisions between vehicles and C-Trains in recent months, including three last November and another last month.
