Downtown streets have been reopened following Wednesday’s wind storm, which sent glass crashing down from a Calgary highrise.

Fire crews worked into Thursday morning to remove the damaged panes.

Strong winds Wednesday evening caused cords and ropes attached to a building on Fifth Avenue S.W. to whip back and forth, smashing windows on three floors.

The road was shut down between Sixth Street and Seventh Street through the Thursday morning rush hour.

Nobody was injured.
