Anyone planning on using the C-Train to get around over the long weekend might have to come up with a Plan B, as many platforms will be shut down for extensive repairs.
All downtown stations plus the Bridgeland/Memorial and Calgary Zoo stations will be closed from 12:00 AM Saturday, August 2 to 4 a.m. on Tuesday, August 5.
The downtown stations include Downtown West/Kerby, Eighth Street, Seventh Street, Sixth Street, Fourth Street, Third Street, First Street, Centre Street and both the north and south platforms at City Hall.
Shuttle buses will replace C-Train service while crews work on various upgrade projects at the stations.
The Calgary Zoo station will be getting a four-car platform extension while major track, signal and electrical work will be happening in front of Olympic Plaza.
The CP Tunnel will have drain system, electrical and track work done while overhead electrical work will be performed at the Ninth Street S.W. curve.
Bus routes 1, 7, 9 and 31 will be detoured from Seventh Avenue.
