A domestic dispute at a northwest hotel has ended peacefully, Calgary police said Saturday morning.

Police were called there earlier this morning after receiving reports of someone with a weapon.

Police evacuated neighbouring rooms as a precaution before a man exited the room on his own after attempts to reach him were unsuccessful.

The man, whom police have not identified, has been taken into custody and charges are pending.

The woman who was in the room with him was apparently uninjured.
