Dennis Barreira named as Calgary man found dead in Southview home
Police asking anyone with information about the 46-year-old's whereabouts over the weekend to come forward
Dennis Manual Barreira has been identified as the homicide victim found dead in a Calgary home over the weekend.
Police are now asking for help to track the man's final hours, says homicide unit Staff Sgt. Grant Miller.
The body of Barreira, 46, was found by a roommate in their home just after 4 p.m. MT Sunday. Miller said Barreira was last heard from Saturday night, leaving 24 hours for police to piece together.
The men lived with other roommates in the southeast community of Southview. Barreira's roommates were away over the weekend, but police say they have been co-operative since their return.
Miller said the men's home was not known to police, but aren't saying what was discovered there during their investigation.
An autopsy was done Monday, but the cause of death is not being released.
Barreira has family in Calgary who have been notified of his death, which is the city's second homicide in 2014.
Miller said more details about Barreira's death is expected to be released later this week.
Police are asking anyone with information about Barreira's whereabouts this weekend to contact police at 403-266-1234 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
