A daycare worker in Canmore, Alta., has been charged with six counts of assault on children in her care.
Six children under the age of three are alleged to have been assaulted at a licensed daycare between Jan. 1 and March 31, the RCMP said Thursday.
None of the victims required medical attention, said RCMP Const. Ray Lucko.
"I don't think the type of assault [was] anything too obvious," said Lucko. "Several parents — until they were contacted — did not know or see anything on their kids."
The accused has been released but ordered not to go to the daycare or have any contact with the victims. She is scheduled to appear again in Canmore Provincial Court on May 12.
A publication ban is in place prohibiting the release of the names of the victims.
Canmore is about 100 kilometres west of Calgary.
