Crowchild Trail shut down after single-vehicle crash sends man to hospital

Southbound Crowchild Trail is closed at Bow Trail after a single-vehicle accident sent one man to hospital.

Southbound Crowchild Trail was closed at Bow Trail after a single-vehicle accident sent one man to hospital on Monday night. 

Emergency crews were called to the scene shortly after 7 p.m. and had to extract the driver who was in a truck that was hanging over a barrier on the westbound Bow Trail off ramp from Crowchild.

The middle-aged man is in life-threatening condition at the Foothills Hospital. 

Police are investigating whether alcohol was a factor.
