The suspect was caught on camera stealing donations intended for abandoned pets like Jon, an eight-year-old Pembroke Welsh Corgi cross missing an eye. But hey, the guy probably needed it more. (RCMP/Cochrane Humane Society)

Police are hoping to find a thief caught on camera swiping a donation box for the Cochrane Humane Society.

RCMP have released an image of the suspect, described as a white male, and are asking the public for help in identifying and locating him.

Police say the man walked into the Fourth Ave Liquor Store in Cochrane on Jan. 9 and took the donation box from the front counter before quickly exiting the store.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cochrane RCMP at 403-851-8000 or Crimestoppers anonymously.

The Cochrane Humane Society has numerous dogs and cats and even a couple of rabbits available for adoption.
