Man was bringing 2 airsoft handguns, say police
Calgary police have charged a man who was arrested last night at a pro-Israel meeting.
A man was questioned on his way into the Calgary Jewish Centre and police say they found two airsoft handguns in his bag.
The 26-year-old is charged with carrying a concealed weapon, carrying a weapon into a public meeting and possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order.
Police said Wednesday night that the man is known to police and said his actions were not politically motivated.
The man is being held in custody until a court appearance Friday morning.
Another Gaza peace and anti-racism rally will be held Friday night at City Hall.
