Charges laid after Lethbridge man injured in fall from truck
Alcohol, drugs believed to be contributing factors in accident
A 19-year-old Lethbridge woman has been charged after a young man fell out of a moving pick-up truck early Friday morning.
At about 4 a.m., the 22-year-old man was taken to hospital with life-threatening head injuries.
Lethbridge police say the man had been riding in the box of a pick-up truck in the area of Ninth Avenue and Fifth Street South when he fell out and struck his head.
The 19-year-old female driver of the truck brought him to hospital but left before police arrived.
The man was then transported to Foothills Hospital and is currently in critical condition.
The woman has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm.
The man's name is not being released as his family has not yet been notified.
Police say they believe alcohol and drugs were involved.
