Attendance was way up as CBC hosted its annual Stampede breakfast on Thursday morning, serving pancakes and sausages to 3,288 Calgarians — 900 more than last year.

The lineup of hungry people snaked all the way around the building at Westmount Boulevard N.W., with live music, clowns, dancing and special guests keeping the patient crowds entertained.

Many CBC personalities were out serving breakfast, including Doug Dirks, Danielle Savoni, Nirmala Naidoo, Jenny Howe and Russell Bowers.

David Gray and Angela Knight hosted CBC Radio’s The Eyeopener live from the event, while CBC News Network’s Suhana Meharchand came out from Toronto to do CBC News Now from the breakfast.

Adam Beach and Leah Gibson from Arctic Air, Arlene Dickinson and Dianne Buckner from Dragons' Den, Daryn Jones from Over the Rainbow and the design-duo Steven and Chris were also on hand.
