Roads reopen after suspicious object causes delays in southwest Calgary
Police had asked people to stay away from area east of Chinook Centre after finding a pipe wrapped with tape
Calgary police have reopened several streets near Chinook Centre after a suspicious object had them asking the public to stay away on Monday.
The affected area was between 1A Street and Third Street S.W. and 58th Avenue and 60th Avenue S.W.
Police at the scene described the suspicious object as a short length of pipe wrapped with electrical tape that was discovered in a parking lot on the east side of 1A Street between 59th and 60th avenues S.W.
After a review, police said it was not a bomb or explosive.
