The Calgary Stampede Showband was presented with the prestigious Sudler Shield on Sunday.

The marching band, made up of Calgarians ages 16 to 21, has competed on the world stage in the past, clinching world titles.

But this is the first time the Sudler Shield, a high level international award, has been presented to a Canadian group.

The John Philip Sousa Foundation presents the award each year to marching bands of "world class excellence."
