Calgary stabbing victim identified
Police have released the name of a young man murdered in Calgary's northwest.
Rigel William Cole was one of two 18-year-old males stabbed outside a house party on Hawkwood Manor Bay around 11:30 p.m Friday.
Cole was declared dead at the hospital, becoming Calgary's 14th homicide victim. The second youth is in stable condition and police say they will not release his name.
An autopsy confirmed that Cole died as a result of a stab wound to his neck, police said Monday.
Early Saturday morning, police arrested 18-year-oldRaul Pavon Flores, who was at a house a few blocks away where there had also been a party that night.
The 18-year-old has been charged with one count of second-degree murder and one count of attempt to commit murder.
Flores shuffled into provincial court in Calgary Monday wearing leg irons and a blue jumpsuit. He was remanded in custody until his next court appearance on Aug. 28.
