Calgary snow removal costs have more than doubled this season because of all the snow.

Costs for December and January total more than $23 million. That compares to $11.2 million last winter.

To date, Calgary has had 114.3 centimetres of snow since October, 25.5 centimetres more than the year before.

The city is also wrapping up its two-month Snow Action Plan, which focused on dealing with the snow on residential routes.
