Calgary Parking Authority adds electric car chargers

The Calgary Parking Authority is trying to determine if there is enough public demand for electric car charging stations.

CPA assessing public demand

The Calgary Parking Authority is installing two electric vehicle charging stations in the Civic Plaza Parkade downtown.

One of those will be available for public use, allowing drivers to pay for parking and charge their vehicle.

The second charging station will be used by the city for its Green Fleet vehicles.

The station can fully charge a battery within three hours.

The city will monitor the stations for one year so the Calgary Parking Authority can determine if there is a demand for more stations.
