Charges are pending against a Calgary motorcylist who was clocked a high rate of speed on the QEII this afternoon north of Airdrie.

RCMP says he was going between 187 km/h and more than 200 km/h.

Officers say they couldn't catch up with the 24-year-old until he got caught up in traffic near the Olds overpass.

They say the man pulled over, jumped off the bike and tried to make his getaway on foot but officers grabbed him and took him into custody.
