Commuters and public transit users will face a number of detours and delays Sunday as the Calgary Marathon criss-crosses the city.

The route will take the marathon mainly through the city's southwest, where there will be a number of road closures lasting through the morning and into the early afternoon in some areas. Full details are available on the Calgary Marathon website.

Transit users should also expect short delays and minor detours. Bus stops may also be changed or missed at points along the marathon route.

Routes 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 13 and 112 are expected to see delays.

Routes 1, 9, 10, 20, 24, 31, 302 and 412 will be rerouted, with details available on the Calgary Transit website.

In addition to the delays and changes listed on their website, Calgary Transit says that there may also be an impact on other routes.

Calgary Transit officials said that people may want to leave slightly earlier than usual to get to work or appointments on time.
