Police have charged a man with first-degree murder in connection with a killing outside a southwest Calgary strip mall one year ago.

Graham Mark Sear, 28, was found dead inside a silver Toyota 4Runner in an alley behind the Braeside Shopping Centre on Southland Drive S.W. on June 8 last year.

A 30-year-old man was arrested in the Beacon Hill area of Calgary on Wednesday and charged with the homicide.

His next court appearance has been set for May 28.

Investigators think the killing was drug-related and that at least one other person was involved.

Police are still looking for a white male who is described as being roughly five feet eight inches tall with a slim to medium build and light-coloured hair. He was wearing a black hoodie and jeans at the time of the incident.

Investigators believe there were also witnesses in the parking lot who haven’t yet come forward.

Anyone with information about Sear’s killing is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
