A Calgary driver has been taken to hospital in life-threatening condition after hitting a series of parked vehicles in Highland Park Sunday afternoon, paramedics said in a release.

EMS responded to a call at 3 p.m. in the 100 block of 43rd Avenue N.W.

A man in his 70s hit a parked vehicle, which then hit another, and another. The parked vehicles were unoccupied.

Paramedics say the man could have suffered some sort of medical event prior to the collision.

A male passenger, in his 30s, was in the car with the elderly man but was not injured.
