Calgary couple to hike Pacific Crest Trail for Alzheimer's
For many retirement is a time to relax, but one Calgary couple plans to hike more than 4,000 kilometres for a cause.
Neil Martin and his wife Pati Roberts are looking to conquer the Pacific Crest Trail, which runs from California to B.C., to raise money and awarenes for Alzheimer's — a disease that has affected both their families.
"Mom will have a good day, and mom is back, and the next day it's not so good, and so that up and down rollercoaster effect is very difficult," said Roberts.
CBC's Terri Trembath talked to them as they gear up for their journey.
