Many Calgarians commemorated Remembrance Day by attending services across the city and observing a moment of silence to honour the men and women who have served Canada.
The Military Museums' hosted one of the largest local services with about 7,000 people in attendance.
One of those at the ceremony was a 92-year-old World War Two veteran Elly Rasken. He fought in the Battle of Dieppe, one month after he married his wife.
"The thing about today is that it’s nice to meet the people that I knew, you know? That I fought with, there’s several here that were in the same regiment," said Rasken.
Tributes from Calgarians extended to social media where many posted memories, photographs and messages of gratification.
